Although most of her young life was spent fighting an invisible enemy, Bexley has
never let her diagnosis define her. Just a toddler when she was diagnosed with Acute
Lymphoblastic Leukemia, and after three years of grueling treatment at Children’s Hospital Colorado, Colorado Springs the now 7-year-old has been off treatment for two years and is living her best life tumbling at gymnastics, playing basketball, baking, playing with friends, thriving at school and being her spunky, sassy self.

It was a long journey for the whole family,
especially since Bexley was diagnosed right before the COVID-19 pandemic began.
“Throughout her treatment we’ve focused on having her at home and just spending more time together,” Jenny says. Bexley and her family have tried to focus on the good during her entire journey and her three older brothers have been her constant companions and biggest cheerleaders throughout her life.

One of the core missions during Bexley’s treatment was the importance for our family to give back. We have a heart for philanthropy and it carried us through the hard times. We want to pass on the importance of giving back and helping others to our children and so Bexley’s Foundation was born.
We wanted to help other kids battling cancer and other serious conditions at Children’s Hospital Colorado.

One major accomplishment of Bexely’s Foundation is the Ballon Bell outside of the hospital. The foundation recently raised money to install the large bell outside the hospital. It’s customary for oncology
patients to ring a bell on the cancer unit when achieving a major treatment milestone.
Now, the new bell allows all patients overcoming a life-threatening illness to commemorate their health victories with all of their friends and family and make it a true celebration.
“We just want to help in any way we can, turning something that could potentially be sad
into something that can be celebrated,” Jenny says.

During hospital visits, Bexley brings a bright pink wagon filled with donations of toys and activities for patients. Bexely’s Foundation is for the children and families. Bexley’s fundraising efforts are devoted to supporting childhood cancer research and finding a cure.

Celebrating ringing the bell at the end of treatment! This is one of the ways that Bexley’s Foundation has given back to the community.

Bexley was lucky enough to ring the bell in November of 2022.
